Jordan is a country full of amazing historical and religious sites. Petra, the most important tourist site, was the capital of the Nabataean kingdom. It was recognized as World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1985 and was named one of the Wonders of the World. The impressive citadel is a must see, you will be stunned by the well-preserved buildings, the work of art in the carvings, magnificent views of the camels walking around, the locals dressed in the traditional clothing selling souvenirs, the “roman” soldiers, and the musicians playing traditional music.
Spring (March – May) and autumn (October – November)
Spring and autumn provides the perfect weather with warm days and cool nights. The winter in Jordan gets very cold and you might even experience snowfall around Petra and Amman. In summer the temperatures can get really high (over 100F) and uncomfortable especially in the middle of the desert.
